On behalf of the Colombian delegation and the World Trade
Center Institute, I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to you for
coordinating and meeting with them on July 7. The experience was priceless for
visitors and they did share how well they were received. The interpreter
mentioned that the visitors thoroughly enjoyed the visit and they appreciated
the many aspects of web development from yourself and your colleagues. I hope
that the interaction was enjoyable for all that were involved. If you have any
feedback it would be greatly appreciated.

Yearly hundreds of foreign professionals sponsored by the
U.S. State Department come to America to meet with their counterparts and learn
about best practices in their field. Many of the visitors become or already are
influential leaders in their field of expertise in their own country. Through
well-tailored visits and through great experiences, these visitors take back
home not only best practices they have learned but also best memories of
American people.

Thank you for putting Maryland on the map and for being a
priceless citizen diplomat. I look forward to collaborating with you again in

PROFESSIONAL OBJECTIVES
The Department of State has outlined the following
specific objectives:

Examine the use and implementation of social media, new technologies and
other e-tools at U.S. government agencies;

• Learn about webmaster networks and professional development resources in
  new media and Web 2.0 tools;
• Meet with webmasters and community managers of public offices to share
  best practices in the administration of existing web pages, security and personal
  information protection policies, and the development of outreach efforts
  through new social media platforms;
• Gain exposure to web-based application production for the Internet and
  Intranet, including web authoring, application development, security, and
  scripting; SSI, CGI and PERL, JavaScript, XML, DHTML, and Visual Basic Script;
• Foster the development of positive exchanges and cooperative policies among
  webmasters of public and private agencies;
• Learn about and experience U.S. society and culture.
